    Anyone tune a 6.0 yet?

I am considering trying to tune my buddies 6.0 this week. Gonna take it slow, but I was hoping maybe someone else could help me out a little bit. Otherwise I guess I can play Guinea pig.

Looks like you are it! When you get the stock read post it up for us to see. Maybe somebody could make recommendations a little better if they can see the tune you are working off of? Good luck!

I got an 05 all tuned! Everything worked flawlessly. The flash time is ridiculously fast, it took a total of 15 seconds! Thanks a million Eric!

I was looking through the features and trying to understand the Ford diesel tuning options. It's there no rail pressure tuning? This is controlled by the FICM correct? I also noticed no parameters for pilot or post injection quantities our timing? Sorry if these are not good questions I'm just trying to compare to the Cummins and duramax tables.

They are a totally different injection system from a duramax and cummins. I don't believe there is any post/pilot injection events hence the annoying rattle.

Thank you for the info! That does make sense about the rattle now. So is there any way to control fuel pressure then?

Injection fuel pressure only is present in the injector. No way to control or monitor it directly.

The 6.0L does have the pilot injection logic, however it is disabled. Factory injectors can't really keep up with it. I can add the parameters in to enable it, but there isn't much point in it.

Injection Control Pressure is in the Fuel System tab.

The Injector Pulsewidth is controlled by the FICM. This is something I am looking into adding support for.

I was doing some reading about how the early 6.0 came with pilot injection enabled and Ford later removed it with flash updates on some trucks. Sounds like those truck owners were disappointed in the updated flash? Also read that sct and minotaur software had pilot injection and ficm tune parameters?

SCT never had FICM support. Not sure about Minotaur.

6.0's you have to trick the FICM to get anything over a 90hp tune per-say until the ability of FICM tuning becomes available.

I like how fast hptuners flashes the 6.0. I've been tuning 6.0 with another program for years. Hpt had a much better lay out also.
