what plays a role in shift points?

I am just wondering if the car just cant do it consistently enough or what. My friends car was not shifting at 6300 as commanded in 1-2 but was shifting at 5900. The 2-3 shift was commanded at 6300 and one time it was 6350 and the other was 6450. I figured it should be closer than that or is that juts an inconsistency we have to deal with and try to compensate for? I just dont want to command a shift rpm of 6400 in 1-2, rev limit set to 6500 and have it bounce off teh limiter just tyring to get it to shift at 6300

I'm a noob so this is just a guess, but have you tried adjusting the mph in the Shift Speed vs. TPS vs. Shift table and WOT Shift Speed vs. Shift table? Maybe the mph is set too low and shifting before it reaches the rpm you're lookng for?

well you are right but that didnt work for me lol. I have the MPH set lower than the RPM so it is triggered by RPM.

heat can play a big part in that...
    hotter it is..more it slips
also teh gear itself can play a part in that..rpms are climing quicker in lower gears so it slips more between shifts if its moving quickly..

    mostly..the 4l60e is a piece of junk..
put a TH400 in there and you wont have this problem

I'm a noob to but wouldn't you have to "0" out your MPH so that the tranny will strickly off of RPM? Anyways that's what I did with LS1edit and it seemed to work for me. Then again mine had problems shifting with wheel spin and would automatically shift in to 2nd when spinning and bog the car down.

i use the MPH as arming and RPM as trigger. I set the MPH 5-10 mph lower than actual shift mph.
