Will HPTuners support an L61 with a turbo?

    Hi noob here,
I have a dune buggy with a 2.2 ecotec from a Vue and an ECU and wiring harness from a 2003 Sunbird.
Enginewiring.com used HPTuners to do the original tune and it been running great for 5 or 6 years.
Anyway, I'm now upgrading my trans and rear suspension.
I think I would like to add a turbo with about 7-8 lbs boost.
I am looking at what it going to take for engine management.
Does HPTuners support a L61 with a turbo?
Any help or direction of somebody doing something similar will help.
    Thank you, Norm

As long as it isn't the 05-06 Cobalt computer then yes. What is your ECM from? If it's from the 07+ Cobalt, which it does not look like, go search cobaltss.net. If it's a Cavalier ECM, the jbody forum is the place to look for the swap.

ECM is from a 2003 Sunbird (Cavalier),
I have read that my ecm wont support boost.
    I don't know, that's why I'm asking.
I would like to get an ideal of how I'm going to get all of the part to work together before I start my turbo upgrade.
I could go with a standalone system but I would like to use what I already have.

    Thanks for the info.
I will look at jbody forum.

boosting the alpha n computer that the vue has is a real pain in the rear. if you want it to be accurate it is recommended to switch to an lsj (05-06 ss computer) or an aftermarket standalone of your choice. it is possible to tune boost on alpha n but the ecu does not use the map sensor to verify manifold pressure all the time. alpha n is rpm by tps based, so going speed density will give you the best results.

I agree with cobaltssoverbooster on that. The P11 ECU that the Sunfire has does not have enough support for boost. It would be best to get a LSJ P12 ECU. And then just repin your harness and then also will need to add some circuits and sensors to your setup.

Yes that ECU can be tuned to run boost.

I have tuned a stock Alpha-N ECU to 405whp on a stock L61 with boost.
