    Lost license vin swap?

Just purchased hp tuners with unlimited licenses for 02 fbody's

I have a 01 fbody with a 02 pcm in it, I recently changed the vin# on the 02 pcm to match my 01 car because I have to get the car smogged and want the vin to match..

Well after I changed the vin# I can no longer make changes to my tune because it's asking me to license it?

When I click "read entire" it reads it with my 01 vin and says it's an 01 fbody now..

So by changing the vin did I transform it into a 01 PCM all of the sudden and that's why it wants a license to make changes?

    hmmm

Dang, I have the original 01 PCM and the only reason I got the 02 PCM was because the 01 is tuner locked and I couldn't read it..

Is there a way to undo the vin change? And go back to the original 02 tune or am I screw and have to pay $100?

You will have to license file in PCM to change it unless you know someone that can change vin back for you.

Why did HP Tuners allow a 01 VIN to be written to a 02 OS? According to this thread that can not be done.

Where are you located? You should really have your location in your sig. There might be someone close to you that could help and have no idea where you are.

01 and 02 use the same OS, so they can use either VIN. What you can't do is change the 02 VIN to a 99-00 or anything different

Figured it out, I had the 2002 vehicle/model licenses only.. So when I changed the 02 ecu vin to the 01 car vin I transfered into an unlicensed platform.. So to make any changes or go back to the other vin I have to license the 01 vin first..

    right now it's vin/OS mismatch since 2002's use OS# 12212156 and 2001's use OS# 12202088

But I'll have it fixed Friday
