HP Pro, no response from record button?

Probably something simple, but how difficult can it be to connect to PCM and push the record button? I have search and looked through the helps.
My first experience with the Pro.
    Thanks

pushing the record button really doesn't do much if you haven't programmed the interface for standalone datalogging, have you reviewed the information in the help file www.hptuners.com/help and actually setup the interface with a configuration and such? If not thats really the first step.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

Ok, by setting up configuration in the interface, is different than setting up log configs? And custom pods?
