When to use no SES vs. no MIL ?

I changed DTC codes P0140 and P0160 to no MIL (3) and no SES (light) since I just installed long tube headers on my 03 Corvette Z06 and I'm not running cats nor O2 simms. After reading other posts on the forum, I see where it is advised at times to turn the SES light off only and not the MIL on some codes.

Did I do what I should have? My interests are no "check engine" light and no way for the smog testers to see those codes.

Turn the Error Mode to - no Error Reported.

Setting the ‘SES to OFF’ will give an Incomplete on the Readiness Tests.
Setting ‘No Error Reported’ basically creates a Forced Pass for said test.
