How to tune the smell out of a Catless Idle?

Hello all.. I have been out of tuning for quite a while.. Cut my teeth on LS1-Edit and now on to HP Tuners. My 2000 Convertible is basically stock with some tuning I did with HP tuners at least 5 years ago.. My car is catless and I am done with the smell.. Stinks like hell at idle, smells up my clothes and garage..

I saw this post on the web and want to get more info on this..

Also is there a way to do this with Real Time Tuning? I don't know much about that feature. but it would be nice to test it without needing to flash each time.

Put the cats back. It'll only steal 1 (=single) horsepower.

Can't. I gutted them. Why waste money on a cat when I only care about it at idle.

Buy a single 3in high flow magnaflow cat converter for 50 bucks, install it somewhere after the Y in the exhaust and smell should nearly go away.

Otherwise I see no way ever to get rid of the raw fuel smell when at idle, higher rpms or more/less timing cant change how the fuel will smell after it's burned.
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

I have Dual Exhaust.. (Vette) Anyway, this is a tuning forum, I have already considered the Cat Option. Its expensive and a pain to drop my car off. If I can simply tune it for a cleaner idle with HPtuners then that makes way more sense to me.

Exhaust is inherently not clean. If you don't want smell, add a catalytic converter.

Ok so all these replies and not one single person read the link I posted. It clearly speaks of tuning out the richness at idle and how it worked successfully.

I simply wanted to know more about the procedure.

Can we please keep the question on point? If you don't know the answer please don't respond. Sorry to be a abrupt here. But I am on tons of forums filled with people eager to reply with no help. A large post count is not going to help me. Lol

Did you read the link I posted? Start with that. All the info you want on EOIT is in the link you posted, nothing to discuss.

A common misconception is that the smell can be tuned out. That's not always true. The more overlap, the less chance you've got of cleaning it up. There are other parameters that have to be satisfied. Idle quality and stability are two of them. You can lean it out until it barely runs and still have it stink like hell. I often hear people say their exhaust smells rich. I'd be willing to bet that I can lean their engine out to the edge of its ability to idle and nobody would be able to smell it and tell me that it's lean.
