    Service number versus acdelco part#

Please explain to me the difference between the service number and the AC Delco part number. It appears that with the same service number there are several different part numbers. Specifically I have a 2009 Corvette and am trying to replace the PCM.

    E38 ECM (LS3 / LS7) or E67 ECM (LS9) ?

Thanks Jon S but I was looking a little more specific and the seach was turning up nothing. I realize now that the service # seems to be model year specific and then the part # has to do with the car it was in or tune file. What was even more confusing is the 12612384 pcm I have here has an 09 os flashed into it but all info shows that 1262545 is an 09 year pcm. I am dealing with a street rod that has an LSEdit tune that I cannot unlock with HPTuners. I had to get a PCM to replace it and was making sure I got the right version for the 09 vette TB and DBW pedal.

My question was intended to promote the specific ... the specifics of your project. I still don't know what engine you are working with, and the base tune that would be easiest for you to use.

Corvettes used 3 different ECMs in 2009 ...

    2009 Corvette LS7 = E38 12612384 (a carry over E38 from 2008) (compatible with OS 12628988)

    2009 Corvette LS3 = E38 12625455 (the "typical" 2009 model year E38) (compatible with OS 12628990)

    2009 Corvette LS9 = E67 12636659

Hopefully this helps you select the correct replacement ECM.

Thanks again Jon S. That is exactly what I was after. This is an LS3 with 6 speed. The car currently has a 12612384 PCM with 12628990 OS in it. This is the part that has caused me the most confusion as I was only seeing the 12612384 listed for the 08 model year. I have already purchased a 12625455 with the 12628990 OS loaded into it. Thank you for confirming I have made the right choice. All this is in a 55 Chevy. The LS3,trans, harness, PCM (unreadable because of LSEdit),sensors, LS2 maf, were all purchased from the same vendor. LTFT's are stuck at +24 or greater and WOT AFR's are in the 15s.
