LMM issues with TCM programming

New to me 08 LMM diesel. Tuned by prior owner with ?????. I can program to the engine all day long and changes take effect. I can program to the TCM, or so it seems, but changes do NOT take effect. No software error codes, no apparent issues. Trying to change shift RPM, shift MPH, WOT shift RPM, etc, nothing will take. What am I missing? Anyone?

Prior truck was 03 LB7 and I had no issues with it on programming.

I have tried software: 2.22, 2.23 beta older, 2.23 beta newer, 2.24 current. Nothing works.

Edit: I am trying to LOWER points to prove out it's working. This should not be a toque management thing. As in lower shift MPH and WOT shift RPM.

Found if I back the fuel and boost back to stock, the trans starts reacting as it should. Seems I am blowing thru something setting wise and the trans isn't shifting for self protection.
