Considering buying used HP Tuners Pro

I have been communicating with a seller on Facebook. He is offering Pro with 2 GM Credits for $250 shipped. Long story short I was concerned with the price and continued to ask questions to see if there was a specific reason that price was fairly low. The seller told me it comes with everything like it was out of the box except for the CD.

He brushed that off and said that I can just download it off of HP Tuners website.
Is that the case? Should I skip this buy?

Thanks for the info, as I am brand new to the forum!

I would ask him for the serial number and see if it has been registered through HPTuners by him so you can get into his customer page and also make sure there is a gurantee that it all works. Get the password from him....if he balks at any of that, walk away.

You can download the software from the website without the CD.

and if you know the SN you can email support and we can check to make sure there are no flags on it ie not stolen, no chargeback, etc.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

My guess is it is cheap because there is only enough credits for one car. But that's still crazy low IMO

sorry if i'm hijacking this thread, I have a similar situation.
Bought a HP Tuners Pro on eBay the other day and want to know if it can be activated. The serial number is 1266244160. They told me this should be new and have all 8 credits but it's missing the cables. My question is " can this unit be activated or is it locked permanently"

    thank you in advance
