    2011 F150 5.0L Coyote tuning advice

Just getting into tuning my 2011 Coyote, and looking for some advice/links on where I can go to do some reading on a 'basic' tune. I've been tuning GM vehicles for quite some time (Turbocharged/Bolton/Cam'd/ect) so I have a very good handle on the GM tuning side of HP Tuners, but in the Ford there are some parameters I just don't quite understand.

Basically all i'm looking for is to reduce/remove most of the brake torque management, upshift torque reduction and in general just give the truck more throttle response and 'crispness' on the upshifts.

I've already moved the speed limiter up, but i'm a bit stumped on some of the Electronic Throttle settings.....and trans settings.

Carefully going to try via trial and error, but if there was a write up/general basic 'how to' that would help me along a bit....

    Thanks in advance!

On the 2011-2014 F-150 5.0L, the tuning is exactly the same as the Mustang. The big difference is that the trucks by default do not have the Optimum Power mode enabled, so at WOT they are using a blend of the spark tables. Until the scanner is done, you pretty much have to wing it because you will have no way to know which table is being referenced at WOT without being able to log it.

You can however enable the OP stuff under Mapped Points Configuration, and then setup the criteria for entering Optimum Power. Then you have a singular spark table that is being referenced, as well as intake and exhaust cam position functions so that you can put the cam timing right were you want it based on RPM.

Thank you Eric! And a big thank you to all the guys that have brought the Ford tuning to the HP Tuners system. I've used this software for many years on GM, and absolutely love that I can play with Ford now! Keep up the good work guys!

Found some help in here, but I'm unsure of how to modify the tables without disabling things I would like to leave on, such as traction control, ect.

    http://www.hptuners.com/forum/showth...-limiter/page2

Need a little help deciphering the table if anyone can. Otherwise, the 'ole guess and check method will be employed here shortly.

From what I understand, the solution should be in one of the following 3 tables:

Engine>General - Fuel Cut Torque Ratio

Engine>General - Spark Torque Ratio Limit

Engine>General - Spark Only Torque Ratio

I can see by looking at the tables, that some methods such as speed limiter are utilizing the spark cut, others such as traction control are using some of the other tables.

The trick, for me, will be figuring out how to disable what I'm after without killing of some the things that need to remain enabled.

    Let the learning curve begin!

Ok to get you started : Fuel cut torque ratio ( enter 0 in whatever cell you want to disable )
Spark torque ratio limit ( enter 1.00 in whatever cell you want to disable)
Spark only torque ratio ( enter 0 in whatever cell you want to disable )
You can start with trans. tru and driver demand
    log torque source

    ^ Thank you sir!

I will try and get some seat time in this weekend/next week. It will be awesome when the 2.25 scanner gets going, it's pretty limited what can be logged with the 2.24 software. But, the guys at HP are grinding this stuff out pretty quick, and it's very nice to be able to play with the Ford hardware!

    Still no luck

I have tried about everything I can think of under Torque Management. I completely disabled each table by entering either 100 or 0 respectively as per the description, but the problem still persists.

I even disabled the traction control entirely by removing the '50' from the box and typing 0 as per the description. However, the problem still is the same.

I'm not sure where to go from here:

Thanks for the help so far guys! I'll keep poking at it. I had over 1 hour of write time doing all the experimentation the other day.....around 3 and 1/2 minutes each write.

Also, here's my current tune file/log/config, during the traction light/no spin issue. See Attached.

Just took a quick glance at the tune you posted trans shift tuning, and all of the engine torque management still looks to be intact. looking at the datalog, the torque source goes from driver demand to one of the commanded torque limiters, though not sure which one..I would look at the engine torque management tables and make some changes there

    thank you toyo.

Here is the stock tune file, so that you can see what has been altered so far.

As far as the TQ management tables, here are the one's I've changed thus far, and made no difference:

Again, thank you all for the help in pointing me in the right direction!

Try these changes and see if that helps with the issue you are having, attempting to attach a picture of the areas to change

Ok, will do sir. It might be a few days before I get the opportunity to do so, but I will report back with the results.

    Thanks for the pics!

One other thing to try would be to turn off torque intervention, in the second pic I posted, top left
