I am getting a error when trying to read the PCM in a custom chassis road course car that has a GM 3.8L V6 with a P04 PCM. The error I am getting is "Controller Unlocker: x36 Exceeded Number of Attempts".

After looking through the forum I found some threads saying to verify voltage first, which I have. Then that it is possibly locked by a previous tuner or a hardware issue in the PCM.

My question is, can I flash over the file with a stock file from the repository(similar to like you can with a P01 PCM)? And start from scratch. As the car has had several modifications done to the car since it was last tuned by the shop that assembled the complete wiring harness for the swap. When it was just a stock setup.

In the mean time, I am trying to contact the original shop that performed the tune on the PCM for the initial swap. To see if they did in fact install a lock on the PCM. Before using credits on a file from the repository.

Thank you,
Mark
