5.3 first attemp at a tune may need some adult supervision

I have taken my 4.3 out of my 2001 Silverado and replaced it with a 5.3 whitch I added a GM stage 2 cam. I used a factory flash for a 2002 that has all the same equipment to get the truck running. I am having an issue with rough idle P0106 and p0121 codes, off idle and WOT seen to be good but still have a raw fuel smell whitch I am thinking my be fixed with injector timing.
    cam specs
    intake duration 227
    exhaust duration 239
    lobe separation 108
    degrees overlap 17
    lift 551
    Is any help avalible

Are you running a wideband gauge? And did you try some compares to any files in the repository?

Without a wideband it will probably be a little difficult, compare injector settings and pull a little 5-10% from idle area and see if that makes a difference.

If you calibrate the MAF then it should solve most of the issues if the injector data is correct.

Do I use the Histogram method for calibration or is their a simple equation to figure out the calibration.

Look through the sticky' sand you will find it I believe posted from William Henn, a complete guide for MAF, VE etc. or order the Banish DVD which is pretty good for basic stock configuration tuning and larger cams. Summit sells it and some members sell them used a little cheaper some times.

Just make sure your steady with the throttle and try not to let off. Find a long long stretch of road that is pretty empty. Run the scanner a couple times logging to get the feel for how it works. Just remember when you run up the scale hit stop scanning before you let off the throttle. Save the log before you shut the engine off then copy and paste special multiply % appropriately. I paste once then run log again and paste half. Then log again. The MAF is pretty simple.

This may sound trivial but I am not having any luck adding MAF-STFT to the histogram list any sugestions

Make sure you have MAF Hz and STFT % bank 1 and 2 in your primary PID table. If you do not have them selected, the histogram will not come up.

Also, if you're trying to dial in a MAF or VE table using STFTs, make sure your LTFTs are disabled and zeroed.

Whenever you are using the scanner you have to have the PID's in the table to be able to use it in a histogram. Very important step when trying to log certain items. Glad to hear you are getting the hang of it. READ READ READ

Now that I have this histogram thing figured out I have noticed a problem the vehicle will not down shift or fast accelerate from time to time very random. it has a code for tps performance but it is not current says passed you think the TPS is failing causing the shifting problem?
