    Misfiring like hell

Is there anyway to narrow it down to which cylinders are misfiring?
I've seen other people find out which ones.
But dont think I have that option.

2nd ?: It says like 198 misfires but then changes. What kinda time
frame is this misfiring going on?
    thanks

I suspect its either a bad fouled plug, or a bad ICM

#4 is a common spot for bad plugs and burnt wires.

i would check pending codes to see if it has P0304 listed.

Are these at idle, or while driving?

If it's at idle and you're cammed, then you'll never get rid of those misfires. When scanning individual cylinders, i get close to 400 misfires per....

if you are misfiring and you are way lean..try getting fueling back inline first..even just adding 10-20% to the entire MAF table to get it closer would be good...
then do a plug change as teh stockers(which they claim are good to 100,000miles cause they are irridium)are really only good til; 20,000 or 30,000 max..teh irridium tips are gone within 10,000 miles..especially if you hammer on it.

get some good NTK copper plugs and change them every 2-3 oil changes or every 8,000-10,000 miles in general

this will most likely fix your misfires...
all vehicles can benefit from a regular spark plug change

Select the whole MAF table. Put 1.15 into the box at the top. Press the X button. Done

thanks, adding 15% really helped me get back inline.
on startup (cold) it seems rich (13s)
i'd like to add more to it, during closed loop which it gets back into the 17s,18s, 19s....

Bad move to keep tuning with a known hardware issue. Misfires are 100% strong indications of hardware issues. It can be:

    - a bad plug
    - a bad wire
    - a bad coil
    - a bad ignition control module
    - a bad injector
    - chunked piston
    - valve issues

What have you done to make sure it is none of the above before trying to resolve a hardware issue by tuning?

Rule #1 of tuning is that you never, EVER compensate in a tune for a mechnical or hardware problem.

You want to know what cylinder is misfiring? Add the PID for cylinder misfires for all 6 cylinders and scan!

This thread is from Feb 2006, I can only assume he's fixed his missfires since then...
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...
