    Feature Feedback: VCM Editor, Favorites

Does anyone actually use the favorites feature of VCM Editor?

I'm thinking it might make more sense to remove favorites, and replace the favorites group with a "History" or "Recently Used" or "Frequent".

I think Frequent being the most sensible. Frequent being a list of parameters that you access/use most frequently.

Or, we just scrap the idea and favorites all together in 2.25+.

I personally have never used the favorites tab, and would likely never use a frequent or history tab. The software is so easy to navigate, I just have a rythum and technique to allow me to cruise through the tune files.

I use the Favorites tab quite a bit actually. I have noticed in recent updates that the "buttons" vary in size and alot of times don't show the full title that you type in to use as your favorite.

I find it alot quicker to list certain commonly used parameters there to make changes quicker rather than cycle through tabs of parameters.

I personally used to create this extensive favorites list and then not use it.I still like the idea of table id numbers that can be searched though

I never have, but I have always intended to. As stated above, the ease of navigation causes me to be lazy in setting favorites up. With that said, a "Frequently Used" would be nice, but I don't think I would notice if it went away all together. I see the benefit of having it, but I have not taken advantage of it.

I do have beta but usually don't use if as often as 2.24. I can use it if you'd like me to try something however.

I never use the favorites. It's so easy to navigate everything.

Now if you really want to be spiffy... Allow the programming of macros that serve functions similar to the tire/gear calculator.

I find it alot faster to set the favorites up to do simple changes like when going from MAF only to SD and vise versa, quickly clicking on timing tables or VE and MAF tables. The main tables that are used is what I have listed in my favorites. It also gives me a quick visualization on some of the settings like MAF Fail frequency and dynamic airflow rpm presets. I also have a list of the VVE coeficients so that when I use Bluecats tool all of the tables are right there in order to paste the data too. It just streamlines everything for me to have the favorites there.

I have no need/use for favorites...but I'd love to have the min/max possible values back in 2.25+...2.24 and older used to show what they were...that seems to no longer be the case?

I definitely am wishing that 2.25 had the favorites tab functional.

I use the favorites in 2.24 and definitely notice the lack of it in 2.25

To add to my post from 5 days ago with a more thorough explanation:

I really enjoy the ability to have a favorites folder.

It helps me out quite a lot when tuning between different platforms, ECU's, etc. that have different tables and architectures.

Typically, I like to fill my favorites folders with all known and commonly used tables that I will be using throughout the entire tuning process of a vehicle and this allows me to be much more efficient on the dyno.

Favorites folders are something that I use extensively with other tuning software's and I would just love to see it back in HP Tuners 2.25.

I'm sure that several others would agree they enjoy using it while others will say it is useless to them.

Users who see no need for it simply just don't need to use it.

It's not like it is in the way or anything.

Unfortunately Keith didn't mention he's now also added a searchable navigator under edit-navigator, and also added in the table ID's in the scroll over help window so if you want to reference a table or look it up by the ID number you can now
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...
