my pe table is set to 12.8, I did a few wot pulls last night and adjusting the maf to get to 12.8. first pull I was at 12.2 with no knock. second pull I was at 12.4 with no knock. third pull I hit 12.7 with a lot of knock. so I thought I would richen it up and bring the pe table down to 12.5. and put my old map on where is was running 12.4 at wot, did a couple pulls today at 12.2 I got knock.
im not getting it, one minute getting 12.4 at wot and when I go richer then that I get knock. should I start to pull timing where I get knock.
someone please help ...
tune is with maf
every pull is 3rd gear at 2500 rpm
I use 93 shell every fill up
live in florida so maybe the heat ??????
thanks in advance
It will vary sometimes I hit 25 of timing with no knock
23 with knock.
I zeroed out my iat spark till 140
My iat never get that high, they never see 120.
Maybe the owner before me ran low octane gas all the time ?
copy the results from your MAF AFR ERROR histogram, make sure its on "L" and paste special onto MAF CALIBRATION table HIGH. Under Fuel and PE set your ramp in to 1.3000 and 0 for delay. I would remove timing in those cells to be safe, especially at wot. Just copy the entire table and paste special subtract into Spark High Octane table. Make sure to smooth out any major swings in timing of say 5 degrees or more. run wot again and repeat step one until the error is +-5. post the results
try some tr6 plugs? i got all kinds of knock on my ls2 with the stock plugs. once i put the tr6 plugs in i was able to add a few more degrees of timing with no knock.
So I ended up turning burst knock off.
Got my afr to 12.6 this morning with no knock at all.
I.also I advanced my timing to 26 from 25 up top
I will do some more tuning this weekend. Maybe try for 12.7 and/or one more degree up top if no knock is present
Then hopefully get on a dyno to see the progress.
