    Wideband to start?

    2005 cobalt 2.0 ss/sc
injen cai, gmpp exhaust, otherwise stock/base tune

have been doing a lot of reading and getting HP Pro next week.
most of the threads/books recommend using wideband with the scanner for reasons I can understand but for a newbie like myself will i still get a "good" tune without wideband? particularly around the MAF adjustments?

    Recommended PIDS for my year/make/model?

I want to work off my stock tune just to get some seat time and learn slowly working my way up to more advanced tuning.

    Thanks

There are a couple configs for the LSJ in the thread above. You can tune part throttle to a certain extent without a wideband but you need a wideband for WOT. Here is a good thread on another forum about tuning VE and MAF: http://www.redlineforums.com/forums/...ve-tuning.html Just don't get too hasty, especially with a boosted car. They can blow up fast.

Your stock O2 sensor is only meant to read a very narrow band of AFR and can't read the values that it needs to at WOT. You can buy an LC1 for $156 on ebay

Right, you want a WB for wot tuning and just about anything else unless you plan the leave the vehicle 95% stock.

I'd go AEM before a LC1 or spring for a NGK AFX.
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.
