    flex fuel capability 12579405

i have a 5.3 4l80e swapped old body style truck with drive by cable. I am using a 3 bar map sensor, and this OS supports 3 bar SD enhancement. In such case, would it be simply as putting the flex fuel sensor in line the return line, wiring up the sensor, and pinning the blue connector for the signal the flex fuel generates and enabling the flex fuel capability in the file? Or do these OS do not support flex fuel sensors and just rely solely on the 'virtual flex fuel' sensor?

If I can use a flex fuel sensor then I guess my search is done.

    Here is the .hpt file

I don't think the "virtual" flex fuel stuff came to be until newer PCM's than yours.

Since this one has a stoich table and not just one constant, and a switch that you can set to enable as well as a default percentage to go on should the sensor fail, and a lo and hi fail frequency threshold...you should be able to do it.

Yes it works. You need to populate the corresponding flex tables like your spark adder table, stoich table, and set DTC's to enable for the Flex Sensor which is labeled "Fuel Composition Sensor" in the DTC Menu.

This OS does have the ethanol content stoich table but I don't see any flex fuel adder tables in the spark section. Does that mean this isn't a flex fuel OS?

The Flex Fuel Spark table is there (Engine>Spark>Advance>Spark Correction>Misc>Flex Fuel) ... but is currently populated with zeros.

Make sure you have a fairly recent build of 2.24...it's there.
