My tune is SD, and yet the MAF still affects fueling

I am running the HP Tuner custom OS on my 2006 Z06. We have the maf set to fail, and yet it still affects fueling. Any ideas how that could happen?

You can also turn off dynamic with the maf unplugged and the VE still works too!

I'm personally confused as the notion ve can be tuned by just software failing the maf, you need to actually unplug it...... and then how do you a MAF only tune, i assume the correct way would be to zero out the ve table to ensure it doesnt effect the maf and also disable dynamic

How do you know that the maf is still affecting your fueling?

The tuner I'm working with had forgotten that he set it up as SD. He made fuel adjustments to the MAF and the car responded.
I reminded him that the MAF was supposed to be turned off and unable to affect changes. We verified that it was set to fail at 0, and yet it did affect fueling.

    Thanks

I tried, as I know it's kind of important. For some reason my laptop won't connect to my wifi. I'll plug it in this evening an upload the file.

It's either in sd or it's not.

You will see maf performance codes if you are properly failing the maf. Then it's in sd.

    No codes=maf still on.

Atleast that is how it works on my 04 ls1 car and a 06 ls2 gto I'm tuning.

Then thats your problem. Must be set to 0 mil on first error(uncheck boxes if you dont want check engine light) or 2 no mil light. If you have it set to 3 no error reported you are not entering sd mode.

Okay, I changed it. I'll see if that works.

    Thanks for the input.
