I just had to license a truck twice. They would not offer my credits back. Good luck.

I had to because I used a older version of their software. I guess its not licensed to vcm. Its licensed to vcm of each version software.

you have to purchase credits for car. Then if you download a file from the repository you have to purchase credits to upload that to car. So yes that would be 4 credits. I will say that is not the correct way to do it. Even though it says stock file, does not mean it's stock for your car. There are other variables that need to be taken into account, like gear ratio. If you have a tune and want to return the vehicle to stock, my best advice is to download a stock file, but do not upload it to your pcm, but instead use the compare function within the software and simply copy and past the needed tables to bring your file back to stock. no you do not pay each time you program the same vehicle. You are basically paying per vin. your vin, and the vin of the file you downloaded. YOu do not have to pay for it unless you try to upload the file.

as far as different software versions, that is incorrect, the credits are licensed to your mpvi serial number, so if it made you re license your vehicle I would contact support

I would have to say you are not pinging your cable correctly with the different software versions or have an old application key entered. I've gone back and forth between different versions and have never had that issue.

Without seeing the file & infolog while connected to the vehicle its hard to tell what the issue may have been.
