E85 tuning questions, Yes I searched

Ok I have found just about everything on tuning E85 on these motors. I know how and where it needs to be tuned, what parts to use and everything. Only thing I am having trouble finding is if the 6.0 can be tuned for performance flex fuel? My dad is dropping a 6.0 in a older vette, before he gets too far I want to know more about the E85 tuning. I know its great with boosted cars, as to my turboed car runs wayy better on E85 mix tune. But I plan to always run a Mix tune in it, besides cleaning tanks and lines out. My dads vette on the other hand I would like to flex fuel it if possible, but gain something out of it. I dont want him to have to keep switching tunes when he switches fuel. I know haltech offers a flex fuel sensor. Does HPTuners offer anything like that, or a way to be able to tune like that? Id rather stick with HPTuners cause thats what I use on all the LS motor stuff, however on my other cars I have used haltech. Both great systems just want to stick with HPTuners on dads vette. Any help or advise on flex fueling a 6.0 , believe its a 99-02 LS, Motor was freshened up, nothing done to it though.

I have no experience tuning E85 on a N/A application, but would guess it's going to be a lot of headache for no gains unless you build the motor to take advantage of the fuel i.e. bumping the compression to 13.75:1 or something to justify using the fuel. Without doing something like that, I see little gains and gas mileage diminished.
As for tuning it with HPtuners, the only thing I've seen that might be of value is looking into a dual flash arrangement that I seem to recall reading about once. Beyond that, you would have to flash your tunes according to your fuel content if you're willing because I see no easy way to integrate a flex fuel sensor into your scheme using the 411 PCM.
If you wish to change the reluctor wheel and associated parts to step up to a GenIV PCM, it can obviously be done.

I believe there were flex fuel vehicles as early as 02

You need to find OS# 12216125 which is a flex fuel OS from a 2002 Suburban (or similar). This OS is for the P01 (411 style) PCM with red and blue connectors. Wire and plumb in the sensor and the PCM will automatically adjust for fuel content on the fly.

Haha! Now you know why I asked! Although I'm interested as well.

Pretty sure that's a cable throttle body OS. Don't think it will work in a Y body. Not sure if some of the tables can be swapped over to make the flex fuel work, but I don't believe the OS will work.

Hi Ed, I believe it's both.
I have a friend with a Suburban that is drive by wire using that OS. Ironically, an engine I acquired later with the same OS was cable driven. I killed the codes on the drive by wire OS he gave me and I've been running it with cable throttle body because I wanted the Flex Fuel option before I acquired the Flex Fuel engine and PCM.

There are differences between the drive by wire and drive by cable file segments, however the OS is the same. Interesting...

As far as the Corvette, the OP, xtreme velocity said "My dad is dropping a 6.0 in a older vette" which I took to be a swap, not a 97 and up Y-Body. Thus, I assumed he would run a cable throttle body. My bad if I'm incorrect on the DBC vs. DBW assumption.
