Is there a TPS delta or constant that keeps me "at idle".

I've noticed with my E38 in my Camaro, when I tip into the throttle at idle...nothing happens until 5-6% registers on the pedal, and at that point, the tach jumps to 2000 RPM.

At that point, if I back off to 4% the tach can come down a little, but then suddenly it drops to idle again. It's basically impossible to hold the car between idle and 2000 RPM in neutral.

I know the TB can do it...if I go into real time controls, I can command 800, 900, 1000, 1100, 1200...it hits those RPM's every time...what am I missing that's keeping my foot from doing it?

...really makes an M6 car with an aggressive clutch annoying in traffic.

Here's a tune and a log. I've screwed with scaling the throttle map...I even moved the value from 3% to 6% on Map A...doesn't matter.

Can anyone comment...or at least confirm if your cars do it too?

Change Desired Throttle Area Map A-Normal, Map B-Winter/4wd, Ma C-Sport/Tow and Tip-In Limiting ETC Limit all tables to back stock.

I've tried with all stock except the tip in limiting. Is that what's causing it?

Tip in Torque Limit and ETC Limit was disabled in the stock file too.

My commanded idle is 850. The lowest I can make it rev is about 1100. I can also hit every rpm between 1100 and 2000, but nothing between 850 and 1100. Not that it helps you but it can be done.

Put these tables back to stock. I see that you have changed lots of tables in your tune. compare your tune with stock file, then Change ETC Area Scalar , all Throttle Follower tables , Adaptive idle ( over & under ), Proportional Airflow and Integral ( Airflow & Airflow Limits ) tables back to Stock.

ETC area scalar is changed due to my 102mm throttle body. That number lets it idle on the same idle airflow table.

Would you be willing to share your tune so I can compare?

I tried this...which also involved putting the stock throttle body back on the car to allow the ETC scalar to go back to stock. No difference at all.

Stock my car had the ETC Limit setting set to disable. I tried setting it to enable, all that did was make it stupid to downshift, a blip of the throttle with my foot on the clutch resulted in absolutely no reaction from the engine.

I really miss the days of my cable driven throttle in my old 2000 LS1 F-Body.

Here you go, FYI this cam 223/231 .625 lift on 110 lsa has better driving habbits than my previous 223/239 .625 114 lsa. The tune is 99% the same as it was with my previous cam for drivability. Had to give it more fuel at WOT.

    Thank you for posting it.

The main difference I see is your throttle follower...mine is zero'd out now, but stock mine added torque until 2000 RPM...yours pulls it. Also, yout ETC Tip in tables have 0% for the entire TPS axis...not sure what effect that may have.

    I'll play some more.

Well...I started with your throttle maps...the stock 2012 Camaro SS map is nicer than the 2010 map. After that, I put in your throttle follower...surprising difference. It's still screwey...can't really hold RPM below 1700ish. I think I'm on the right track now...just been driving my truck the past few days since I washed the Camaro and it decided to rain. Not afraid of getting her dirty...just don't want to the DAY after I wash it lol.
