    Will an E40 work with a 6L90E/6L80E?

As the title implies, will the E40 work with the 6L80/6L90E internal TCM?

Digging up an old thread, but has anyone actually tried this? I understand there is a protocol difference in the early 6l80e's compared to the later 09 model ones.

Won't work. If you want 6spd auto get a TCI 4L80 6spd conversion with a standalone controller

That TCI trans is just a gear splitter, not really a 6 speed. It still has the final ratio of the 80E.
