The way the logic is done in the Copperhead ECM for Tip In Spark Retard is a little different than earlier years, in fact there are differences between how the 11-12 Mustang handles it, compared to the 13-14.
In this screenshot, you can see how it is handled in the 11-12s.
If the Airmass/Event exceeds Airmass Enable, the PCM infers a tip in has taken place, and removes the amount of timing specified in the Spark Borderline Tip In Modifier vs. RPM
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the 13-14, there are a few more parameters.
Spark Tip In Borderline Retard vs. RPM vs. Load is how much timing is removed from the borderline spark calculation.
Spark Tip In Pedal Delta Enable vs. RPM vs. Load is the % pedal change to be considered a tip in.
Spark Tip In Load Delta Threshold Enable vs. RPM vs. Load is the load increase to be considered a tip in.
Spark Tip In Events vs. RPM is the number of spark events to keep the retard amount pulled.
Spark Tip In Events Delay vs. RPM is how many spark events to wait before removing the timing, once a tip in has taken place.
