    C7 Experiences...

Just wondering how many have tuned near stock C7's, and what you've seen.
I've got one to use as a test mule, and no matter what I do, it will not change HP. moved timing from 18 to 27, and no change. AFR's from low 13's to high 11's, and also no change.
I say no change, but there are single digit swings in power. But less than 5HP, and I call it no change.

And the WOT MAP is dropping from 97-98kpa to 91-92, so I'd say this thing needs uncorked BADLY.

Car only has Pfadt headers. (I don't recommend them now that I've tried them)

Finished the Auto C7 completely stock tune only on a MD1100 Mustang Dyno

    386/384wtq SAE Stock

    409/406wtq SAE tuned

Still getting some random KR that Im sure is false knock. Its not much about 1.3-.8

Still need to work on the Transmission Calibration a little more on it.

OP log your ETC, it is probably closing. You can keep it open through Driver Demand table in Engine/TqMngmt and possibly Peak Torque.

6spdGTO, how much timing are you commanding at WOT?

    17-21 @ WOT

I had less timing in the manual c7 but got away with 20-21 on the auto

    91 octane

Both cars had less then 50 miles on them. I'm sure the more they break in there would be more gains

That's great for 91. I'm on 93 with an M7 and can only get 16-18 at wot. On MS103 I can run the Max Torque Timing table figures without issue....like 25.

The last one I did had bolt on's, cold air, and Kook's Headers and X-pipe and on the stock tune made 390rwhp on our dyno dynamics and after tuned came up to 430.1hp. This was on 93 octane shell. I was able to get around 21* at peak tq and up to 23-24 at redline. This was a manual car. In my past experience relieving the restriction on the exhaust allows a bit more timing than a stock manifold/cat setup would.

    James,

How was the fitment and installation on the Kooks?

Did you still get some random case of false knock at all, about 5000-6200 rpm randomly?

Just fyi ive installed 3 kooks and about 7 arh c7 header/x pipes threw my work. The Kooks have a higher end look and also a gold finish where the arh are just silver. The kooks fit/install easier, you dont have to remove the dry sump lines on those equipped cars and have a better catted x pipe design. The ARH headers are less expensive, fit good, good customer service, make the same power, but you do have to remove the dry sump lines to install. The overall power gains were the same but 3/4 arh's made a 5ish more midrange tq.

I have had almost no time to come back to this. So I don't have any new logs.
I had checked the blade position when I was messing with the tune, and it was not closing.
I did get a chance to put an aFe intake on the car. Did a quick pull at the end of a dyno day I hosted, and it now put down 445rwhp. No log. I was in a rush.
Stock it did 402rwhp, and with headers and messing with the tune put it at 415rwhp.
I changed the driver demand tables when I was messing with the tune but not the peak torque tables.
It seems that in my crappy air, this car REALLY needed the intake side opened up.
I hope to get back to it in a few weeks.
