Thread: LNF 110 octane max timing - anyone else tuned for it?

LNF 110 octane max timing - anyone else tuned for it?

Didn't find anything in a search. I'm wondering what the max timing limits are on an LNF that you don't want to exceed. Or, is it just keep bumping it up everywhere until you get knock as usual and back off some?

Asking because I finished tunes for 91 & 100 octane. My 110 octane can match the most aggressive e85 timing tables with 0.0 knock across the board. Was going to push it farther but thought I'd check here first. Boost 22-23psi.

    Thanks

Question answered. Worth posting for those tuning for road racing because anything above 10% ethanol is illegal.

From testing I've found timing tables are pretty much identical to what people are using for E85. No gains going beyond. Benefits are 0.0 kr.

    Thanks, T-Man.

My car on 112 will knock at the same timing we are running on e85. Car made more then 20 whp when going E over 112 let alone 110. And e85 is cheaper. If you don't have enough fuel for e85 then think about doing a 50/50 mix of e85 and 110. But to answer your question i ran in the 22 degree range on 112 and more on e85

I tested 25° on 110 with 0.0° or kr everywhere. I backed it off to 23° because there was no benefit to running it that high. As stated in my previous post, anything above 10% ethanol is illegal in SCCA road racing.

You may want to work on smoothing your tables and getting your MAF dialed in more. Makes a big difference with kr.

I was only able to pull that kind of timing running 30 psi on a big turbo. The 112 wouldn't go as far.

Can you run 116? I was able to run the same timing with 116 as I did with e85. 25.5 degrees up top. 29psi. S256et. 500whp. 09 TC Stock Motor.

Never dynoed with 110 but found the ability to resist knock between 116 and 114 much different. 110 would probably be much worse.

Yes. Usually your car tops out on timing and makes no power, but you can tune and add more timing. But it won't increase power.

E47 seems to have a great blend so i have personally mixed mixed some Torco 118 NOS because it has an engineered faster burn rate with E85 50/50 by volume and had great results. now that's not C16 but E85 straight up seems to have a little bit slow of a flame rate for the lnf so mixing it with race gas to speed it back up some shows good benefits. 5th injector gt30r @ 30psi made 533/468

I can run 116, just didn't see the need. I tested 25° with 110 and was able to do it with no knock. From what I've read, there aren't really any gains to more timing. Stock turbo, 22-23 psi. Remember the op was for road race tune, not drags, which limits boost for heat and longevity. Limited on legal fuels available to run (nothing above E10, <1% methanol, no exotic additives, etc).

yea the e limit forgot about that. spark curve test seem to be pointing towards a max of 25* for most people. if thats what your getting then you might be there already?
