Help with first HP Tuners file

So I just got HP Tuners and am starting the tuning school course. I did an upload to try and diagnose my problems.
Current mods are: 2012 CTS-V Auto

    2012CTSV-MOD.hpt

    LS9 cam
    2.5 upper pulley
    8.6 lower pulley
    Airaid intake
    stock exhaust
    ID 850s

Full throttle runs the car feels good. Have not scanned yet) The problem is normal driving it is getting 5-7 mpg driving at 35-60. All normal cruising. It has a studder when letting off of the gas( like an airflow or fuel flow problem). Can anyone look at the HPT file to see any obvious problems. I will get a scan file soon also.

The only obvious finding is the ID850 injector data isn't correct for IFR, Min pulse etc. Attached are the correct settings. Make sure you use the correct IFR table based on your 2012 Delta Pressure axis. Odds are you are running very rich as the IFR is reporting slightly smaller injector openings and the min pulse s/b .125 ms but is set to 1.XX ms. Also it is a MAF only tune. VE is stock, s/b tuned for your setup in the less than 4K RPM area's.

Will know more when you post up a log or two.

min injector pulse width is still not .125 across the board. This will effect you low speed flow rate with the ID850 injectors.

Good to hear. Every good tune has to start with accurate injector data. Get the wideband installed and get the MAF/VE tuned. If you need any help, let me know.

So as I said above, it is now time to tune the MAF, VE, PE etc. I see over rich conditions as well as very lean conditions as you are in Boost. Do you know the tuning processes? What about the Blue Cat VE tuning tool? Let me know where we are starting from.

Time to go Open Loop and begin tuning. Start by developing you .cfg. Keep it to 24 PIDs total. Won't need Inj pulse width, O2 mv, LTFT's, STFT's.

Log RPM, ECT and IAT, TPS, MAP, WB AFR, KR, Advance, commanded AFR.

Next develop an AFR error custom PID which will calculate the percentage of difference between your commanded AFR and the WB reading. This wll be used to adjust the MAF and VE values in the tune. Add this PID to your .cfg

For MAF tuning add MAF Airflow and MAF Freq. Develop a histogram which has a FREQ axis identical to your tune and log the AFR custom Error PID.

For VE you will have to use the BlueCat tuning tool. This allows you to convert the Coefficient based VE values used in you years PCM/OS into a conventional VE % table, do the error correction with your AFR custom Error PID values then convert them back to coefficients and insert into the tune file.

Let me know what you think about this.

    Thanks,

    Ed M

I'm trying to follow the tuning school book for MAF and VE tuning. I'm setting up the scan now but can not find "Primary VE vs MAF vs MAP in the tables. Is there an equivalent?

As I stated above, your year/PCM does not use a conventional VE table, rather coefficients that the PCM collects from lookup tables (in your tune) based on various engine conditions (rpm, MAP etc) and calculates the VE value to establish the fueling requirements.
