    High Overlap Tuning and Vaccum

I spoke with another tuner today just having a general conversation and he said that anything under 110 LSA will need a vaccum pump if tuning EFI. I saw some guys tune a 248/252 112 which is around 27*+ overlap and tuned on EFI per HPtuners. I was thinking about running a cam in the 230's with 21* overlap. My question is since the overlap is less than the 248/252 112 cam, is it possible to still be able to tune EFI per HPtuners? Or do I have to go to a carb?

Can you run around 20-25* of overlap EFI?

Would it make enough vaccum or would I need a vaccum pump?

You are fine, the bigger cams aren't easy but IMO fuel injection gives you way more control of them than a carb.

I tuned 38* with stock engine before it drives fine

Did you run into issues with vaccum with your power brakes or A/C?

I regularly do stuff with over 30* of overlap with no issue.
