    Writing 2010 flash onto a 2009

    I have a 2009 Silverado 6 speed with 5.3L, E38 pcm. Does anyone have a better update than VCM: 12630501 TCM: 24249179
The ones in the tune repository seem numerically older.

    I have a flash from a 2010 6 speed 5.3L with VVT, E38 pcm. The VCM: 12636005 TCM: 24254909

Can I write that flash onto my 2009 PCM and expect it to work properly even though the 2009 doesn't have VVT?

The 2009 still has Variable cam spark tables in the tune though, which confuses me.

I drove this 2010 for about a month, and it ran like a scalded dog compared to the 2009 I purchased recently.

If your 09 ECM is a true 09, the OS's cant be swapped 09 <> 10. The service numbers need to be the same.

That would not be nice. I was thinking of doing a compare and just changing the differences. But not sure if the VVT makes the 2010 too different to just do a compare swap.

What other differences do the engines have? Heads? Cam? Compression? I wouldn't blindly run a tune for a different engine...I'd just tune what's in the truck for best performance.
