    Swapped t56 to 4l80e now I have 2 codes

[] P0961 - Pressure Control (PC) Solenoid A System Performance (Old) (History) (Current) (Immature)
[] P2764 - Torque Converter Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Control Circuit Low (SES) (Old) (History) (Immature)
[] P2764 - Torque Converter Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Control Circuit Low

It keeps popping up at random times. This last time was around 100 miles.

    Whats it mean?

    Circuit Description

The torque converter clutch pulse width modulation (TCC PWM) solenoid valve controls the fluid acting on the converter clutch valve. The converter clutch valve controls the TCC application and release. The solenoid attaches to the control valve body within the transmission. The solenoid receives voltage through the ignition voltage circuit. The transmission control module (TCM) controls the solenoid by providing a ground path on the TCC PWM solenoid valve control circuit. Current flows through the solenoid coil according to the duty cycle, percentage of ON and OFF time. The TCC PWM solenoid valve provides a smooth engagement of the TCC by operating during a duty cycle percent of ON time.

When the TCM detects a continuous open or short to ground in the TCC PWM solenoid valve control circuit, then DTC P2764 sets. DTC P2764 is a type B DTC.

    DTC Descriptor

This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTC:

DTC P2764 Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) Pressure Control (PC) Solenoid Control Circuit Low Voltage

    Conditions for Running the DTC

•The system voltage is 8-18 volts.
•The engine speed is 500 RPM for 5 seconds.

    Conditions for Setting the DTC

DTC P2764 sets when either of the following conditions occurs for 5 seconds:

•The TCM detects an open in the TCC PWM shift solenoid valve circuit when the TCC PWM is commanded ON.
•The TCM detects a short to ground in the TCC PWM shift solenoid valve circuit when the TCC PWM is commanded ON.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

•The TCM requests the ECM to illuminate the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) during the second consecutive trip in which the Conditions for Setting the DTC are met.
•The TCM commands maximum line pressure.
    •The TCM inhibits TCC engagement.
•The TCM inhibits 4th gear if in hot mode.
•The TCM freezes transmission adaptive functions.
•The ECM records the operating conditions when the Conditions for Setting the DTC are met. The ECM stores this information as Freeze Frame and Failure Records.
•The TCM records the operating conditions when the Conditions for Setting the DTC are met. The TCM stores this information as Failure Records.
•The TCM stores DTC P2764 in TCM history.

    Conditions for Clearing the DTC

•The ECM turns OFF the MIL after the third consecutive drive trip in which the TCM does not send a MIL illumination request.
•A scan tool can clear the DTC.
•The TCM clears the DTC from TCM history if the vehicle completes 40 warm-up cycles without a non-emission related diagnostic fault occurring.
•The TCM cancels the default actions when the ignition is OFF long enough in order to power down the TCM.

    Test Description

The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.
    4. This step tests for voltage to the solenoid.
    5. This step tests the ability of the TCM and wiring to control the ground circuit.
    7. This step tests the resistance of the TCC PWM solenoid valve and the automatic transmission (AT) wiring harness.

    Circuit Description

The pressure control (PC) solenoid valve is an electronic device that regulates transmission line pressure based on the current flow through its coil winding. The magnetic field produced by the coil moves the solenoid's internal valve which varies pressure to the pressure regulator valve. The transmission control module (TCM) controls the PC solenoid valve by applying a varying amount of amperage to the solenoid. The applied amperage can vary from 0.1-1.1 amps. Low amperage, 0.1 amp, indicates high line pressure. High amperage, 1.1 amps, indicates low line pressure. The duty cycle of the PC solenoid valve is expressed as a percentage of energized ON time. Zero percent indicates zero ON time, non-energized, or no current flow. Approximately 60 percent at idle indicates maximum ON time, energized, or high current flow. The TCM determines the appropriate line pressure for a given load by comparing the throttle position sensor voltage, the engine speed and other inputs.

When the TCM detects a continuous open or short to ground in the PC solenoid valve circuit, then DTC P0961 sets. DTC P0961 is a type C DTC.

    DTC Descriptor

This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTC:

DTC P0961 Line Pressure Control (PC) Solenoid System Performance

    Conditions for Running the DTC

•The system voltage is 8-18 volts.
    •The engine is running.

    Conditions for Setting the DTC

The PC solenoid valve duty cycle reaches its high limit, approximately 95 percent, or low limit, approximately 2 percent.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

•The TCM does not request the engine control module (ECM) to illuminate the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL).
•The TCM records the operating conditions when the Conditions for Setting the DTC are met. The TCM records this information as a Failure Record.
•The TCM commands maximum line pressure.
•The TCM freezes transmission adaptive functions.
•The TCM stores DTC P0961 in TCM history.

    Conditions for Clearing the DTC

•The TCM clears the DTC from TCM history if the vehicle completes 40 warm-up cycles without a non-emission related diagnostic fault occurring.
•A scan tool can clear the DTC.

    Diagnostic Aids

DTC P0961 may set under low voltage conditions caused by high electrical system demands.

this is from alldata. under a 07 2500 Silverado with either a 60-65 or a 4l70e. im sure it carries over to another year or two and trans or two

Thanks. Ive had 3 80e's in the truck before finding a good one, this one is a brand new Jakes 80e and all 3 had this code pop up. Trans seems to function just fine and it ussually pops up as soon as I start it and sometime while cruising.

Ill do that. The whole lsx conversion harness is made by Current Performance, I sent it back over winter to have it converted from manual to auto harness and use a t42 tcm. Ill check the pins and wiring, maybe somethings not seated all the way.
