    Cammed Mustang Turbo idle

    Hi

With lumpy cams as I did here:
    http://www.hptuners.com/forum/showth...ight=ford+idle

was quite good. But with turbo in addition it was not so easy, everything has to be on spot, otherwise idle are getting crazy.

Finally I have very good idle and drivability, but...

Transition from dashpot to rpm control while stopping. Sometimes this transition is fast and car slowing down at 1k rpm with clutch on and when stopped slowing down to 800. But sometimes he jacks RPM's to 1200-1300 when stopped and after it goes to 800. Idle air is on spot, idle air integrator is in +-0.3 range , idle comes quite quick to 1000, also when driving. No bouncing or so.
If I make that he will not jack up rpms on stop, then when driving RPM's fall off too much with clutch on.

I tried to modify speed when it comes from dashpot to idle control, but when it's high, drivability sucks, but idle while stopping are ideal.

It has DBX MAF in blow thru config, close to GT500 TB.

I have no such problems on same setup but without cams, even exact calibration ID.

    Any ideas where to look?

Problem solved. After cam install, turbo, maybe supercharger, throttle needs to be adjusted as i wrote in another thread.
    Predicted throttle table.
    Now Its better than stock.
I'll update soon topic with cams tune.

he says when no boost. and running through rpm. it cuts when he shifts. full boost is a beast. hellion turbo kit with factory MAF w/ MAFIA extender pull side. also when car first starts up I can get it to cam and lope like its suppose to with these cams. but as soon as it warms up it just idles normal. also.... when he gets on it and comes back to a stop. sometimes the car will just idle up to 1000+ and stay up there until shut off and restart. thanks for help in advanced.

vehicle still detonates around 70% boost, 15psi

    1. Your timing tables are wrong. Their resolution is bad, finishes at 0.9 load, so probably with this cams You have to much timing there.
At 15 psi I think You should have left axis max of 2.0 load.
    2. Maf on pull side, 99% You get maf backwash, that's why it cuts on shifts and you can't get good ile on stops, I think if You rev this on idle quick and left throttle off, it will die. 2 cures for this, one to move maf before throttle, best would be abaco. Second option is:

    http://www.hptuners.com/forum/showth...r-maf-backwash

but for now it's not 100% cure due I can't tune mixture in failed maf mode and probably when You do that as I, You will be 20 percent to rich on idle, but he will adapt, so finally runs good.
