how do you disable burst knock

i have a 98 z28 with a cammed 5.3 and i've been getting random knock but only during violent throttle transitions. my burst knock table where already zero'd out but the enable gm/cl was stil .050, so i changed that to 8.000. shouldnt that have disabled burst knock all together? im still getting the burst knock on my datalogger when i launch or have to pedal it, then on the same log im getting the same amount of knock retard which is in turn pulling timing. has anyone else ran into this problem or did i miss something?
