De-sensitise the over/overspeed spark a little to suit the naturally larger oscillation in cammed idle.

How do you do that? Do you mean subtract?

As per the PM you sent me
Simply make the numbers smaller at smaller rpm errors. Very small numbers close to zero and allow spark more influence as rpm error increases. Spark is the fastest method to control rpm, so what's happening is the PCM trying to use spark to keep the idle speed constant. When cammed there's going to be a bigger natural under/over error so you need less correction there.
