Its a 3800sc in a fiero. I just got it fired up but it won't stay running unless I press the gas. What should I log for y'all to take a look at?

I googled this problem and it mentioned the maf. So I unplugged it and it starts and idles, what does that mean.
EDIT: I cleaned it and it's a little better but it's hunting for idle then it dies afters few seconds. Is there any way to test the maf before I blow a couple hundred bucks and it's not it. This motors from the wreckers and this is the first I've had it running so I'm trying a process of elimination.

Yes, are you scanning the MAF Hz signal? Is it showing data? If it shows 0 all the time, then start troubleshooting... like look for bad or broken connection or wires. If all physical connectors are known to be 100% between the MAF and PCM, then start looking to get a new MAF.
As an update I found the problem. It was a dirty iac, I cleaned it and it idled no problem.
