Howdy gents,
Been fooling around with trying to smooth out the idle on my car today. Went through as many threads as I could and here's what I've gathered:
- Work the DAL table in the idle areas - Lower in my case - 1% at 10%, 3% at 20%, 3% at 25%, 2.5% at 30% and smoothed into 40% with .3-.5%
- Work the timing tables - All 4 are the same in my case, and I've slightly lowered/smoothed them in the required idle loads/RPM
- Work the Optimum timing tables - I've added an additional 6 degrees in the 20% load area and 7 in the 30% load area
So far, with the A/C off - my timing will oscillate back and forth between 9.50 and 12.50-13.00, ETC% sits between 1 and 2% with an airload 14-16%. It's relatively smooth but I can still feel and hear a slight "bounce" for a lack of a better term. Vast improvement but still needs work, obviously
As soon as I turn the A/C on, I get an airload spike, timing droops and the ETC opens up to 9-13%. Timing greatly oscillates and jumps from 6.50 all the way up to 16.50 at times. Airload jumps to 33-38% and is definitely NOT smooth
Log attached. Fuel trims are usually even better but we're in monsoon season, so it's a bit humid and of course hot. Best idle sample comes at frame 9975, near the end of the log.
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated for those who've had some success with what I'm after. Thanks
