    License Issue

Hi, I had my car re-tuned by a local tuner using HP Tuners. I had purchased a license and had flashed my car several times before my tuner worked on it with no issues. Today I did a read entire and edited the file and saved my changes then when I go to write the calibration it says im not licensed. The VCM ID's match but it says I still need a license. I am posting my log for the file below. Please help! Thanks!

pcm has a custom operating system applied to it, if you want to utilize the custom operating system you would need to license it(2 credits).
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

Bill, similar issue. Tuned an '01 camaro but kept throwing an 1153 code. Tried adjusting delay to no avail. Was going to try setting the code to 3 so I could get it through emissions but could not find it on the list. Only went to P0410. Was advised the tune file was likely corrupted and would have to start with a fresh base OEM file and copy over tune parameters. Don't want to have to charge the customer for another license. Any way to carry license over to the new file? Same car. Same tune.

Yes, just have the pcm flashed to stock via tech 2, vcm id number in the pcm(nor the vin) will change so the license will stay in tact.

I am having a similar problem

I bought credits for a 04 GTO and licensed the car it shows under the vehicles I have licenses for. But every time I go to make a change it says I must buy credits to license this vehicle. What do I do?

pcm has a speed density custom operating system(vcm enhancement) applied that you haven't licensed. If you want to tune using this custom operating system you must license it(2 credits).

That OS is a SD custom tune, you need to apply the licence for 1 bar to it which is 2 credits

Bill, took it to the dealer for reflash and the kid tells me the computer either has a chip in it or is locked and it won't take the flash. I reminded him that the OBD II computers don't have a port for a chip which he wanted to argue with. But in any case, wouldn't take the reflash. I've checked to make sure I didn't lock the tune (although I didn't think that would stop the Tech 2 from flashing it anyway) and it is not locked.

    Any ideas?

Re Read Pcm and post file to see if it is infact locked.
Tech2 should be able to reflash as long as Pcm is good and not locked.

Yeah, the young technician didn't inspire a lot of confidence when he insisted that he had his 2006 Mustang "chipped". Said he watched them open it up and put the chip in. I need to meet these electronic engineers.

I'll try another tomorrow and let you know how it goes.

Took it to another dealership and as we all expected, flashed with no problem. Fortunately first dealership agreed to refund but a huge waste of time.

New tune built and loaded. All problem codes associated with "lazy" O2s 3'd. Have driven it now 4 times hitting all the drive cycle points identified in diagnostics and still can't clear the Cat and O2 Heater monitors. Following codes set to 3:

    - P0140/0160
    - P0133/0134
    - P0153/0154
    - P1133/1134
    - P1153/1154
    - P0410

    Any thoughts?
