    switched PCMs now it only cranks no start

    well two weeks ago i got home in my firebird and parked it in my driveway,Went back out to move the car and it would start but ran like S/'#t not throwing codes missing bad,went thru usual check list,check spark it is very intermittent good on some cylinders bad on others, checked coil pack with another set of coil packs,changed plugs,Checked fuses,checked power at coil packs,Checked grounds at coil packs,changed back to stock injectors to make sure one wasnt hung open then changed them back,checked compression,Rockers,pushrods,switched out Crank postion sensor,Cam position sensor,Pulled wiring harness out of car took all black tubing off and went thru every wire verifying no broken connections and or grounds to and from there destinations,Removed all unsed wires from harness EGR,Rear O2s,ETC.,Still wont run right?,Must be the PCM right?,Okay brother works at salvage yard get Computer out of a running 1999 chevy silverado book says they are same computer just have to reflash it,So after i purchase the Silverado credits so i can flash my running great firebird tune to new computer i do a write entire and when done i shut off key for ten or so seconds then try to start,IT cranks but now wont even make a pop nothing? okay i am very stumped.What now??

    okay got it to start after doing a write entire,write calibration,write tunerlock VATS,RElink Vats,guess what still runs like sh$t,as it was stumbling to stay running i went under hood to try to see what cylinders exactly are acting up and it varys so much that it doesnt matter which coil i unplug runs the same,So its definetly not the computer,Now remember it was running perfect before.all i did was shut it off and restart it.

    Try logging PCM voltage while running. Also check all your grounds.

    well still running poor

    its not the grounds when i had the entire engine wiring harness out i checked them very good even cleaned the head where the grounds are bolted,i would post the tune and config but this new forum wont let megoto my desktop where my tunes configs and etc are saved only gives me HOME section to choose from,ITS definetly cylinders 3,5,4,6 and logged voltage is 13.9

    I have to ask a dumb question... you did a write entire to the new used pcm, correct?

    Yes i did it is running exactly the same as the oem computer which leads me in other directions i THINK.

    i guess i am going to start pulling the motor after work,maybe the relutor wheel moved??,I dont know how but i am out of options at this point.

    After you select Manage Attachments, in the upper right corner click on Add Files. In the box that pops up click on Select Files. Then navigate to where the files are at on your drive.

    Double check to make sure that the connectors at the ecm are tight. I had to unhook mine to run some wires and when i reconnected it i had a no start as well. Even heard the fuel pump kicking on but no spark. I fought it for 3 hours until i realized i didnt tighten the connectors at the ecm. Started right up afterwards.

    yesterday i pulled the timing cover,took me thirty minutes doing that getting good at it,just to check timing marks and make sure evrything was Tight and perfect which it was so i put it back together,So no problem there,so today i have to try something else,I know the ECM connector is tight i checked this AM.

    So i take it you have log current misfire to see if its odd or even bank. Have you soak the ignition with water and look for arking or if the misfire gets worse.

    I have changed three different pairs of coil packs has brand new wires and new plugs,It isnt firing right on 4,6,3,and 5?

    if your gauge fuse in the cab is popped it won't start. Also if your ignition relay is bad it will crank but not start. Two quick and easy things to check.

    it does start now just does not run right, back to original problem that started me changing the ecm in the first place.luck i got the ECM for 50$ bucks

    It appears that this car wasn't dialed in or you have 02 problems, but your 02's seem to be lightly switching and swinging from low to high throughout the scan. Have you tried commanding open loop and looking at the wideband? Dropping cylinders will show up as lean, yet your STFT's are maxing out negative. Your OLFA has high values in it, so before trying OL, make values 140 and above 1.0 and see if you can get it to act right in open loop.

    well #6 cylinder intake lifter is stuck in its bore and i cannot get it out,So it has failed was holding the valve open.
