I guess more research is required. I am missing something key here.
Example today, a really warm day for here... Boost Desired would go from 222kpa to suddenly 140kpa.
The car today felt gutless today, horrible actually.

    Frames 911 (223kpa Demand but only 23kpa Boost/vac) ) frames 912 - (163kpa).
Is this due to the computer figuring that it would never make it there?

There is some other table I am not aware of that is affected by temperature? or better yet.. ECT ?
The most I would get out of it is 200kpa vs EARLY this morning I could get 226kpa (the 135.4kpa boost)...strange...

I couldn't imagine the headache if one changed heads or cams on this thing.

I also re-read Chris's p11 post #211, I don't understand what exactly Pressure Ratio Max table is and how to adjust accordingly.

    Informative, thanks.
Looks like a ratio of ~2.89 in my case.

    Smithers,
Is your car knocking at all? If other torque limiting tables are ramped up, the knock airmass table becomes a boost limiter under any amount of knock. Sorry, I'm not on a computer with HPT installed to look at your data right now.

I'll be posting up my most recent tune probably tomorrow if it cools off tonight. It's been in the mid 90's and that's not my ideal temperature to be going WOT with my car.

I haven't done much of anything different really besides working on the trans tune. I'll tell you what, modifying the final minimum spark makes this car feel so much better to me.

This car would be much more enjoyable with an exhaust I could hear. How ricer of me.

Thanks for sharing! How did you decide how to change the final minimum spark?

Searching showed changing it to disable some torque management?

Also, I know its just small but I like to disable AC when Im in PE. ie. above 65%tp or 3500 rpm

Personal choice. I don't like how the torque management with the A6 is a global function so instead of using torque factor in the trans section I modified the final minimum torque to stop it from yanking so much timing out during spirited runs while still maintaining a fair amount of timing reduction for part-throttle shifts.

Hey guys, just read through this thread and looks like you've been busy!

Just wanted to let you know about a thread over on CruzeTalk regarding plugs. One of the members tried a good old standard V-Power plug in place of the stock iridiums and reported great results, now I and several others have tried this as well and the difference is quite remarkable, especially in the low end.

Reading about your struggles with part throttle KR at low RPM makes me think that tuning this little motor with better plugs might be easier. The plugs we've used are the NGK BKR7E, same heat range as the OEM iridium plug and only cost about $10 a set. Everyone who has tried them so far has been extremely impressed, both running the stock and aftermarket tunes.

I would personally like to try the iridium BKR8EIX as well in case the one step colder range offers similar improvements and better plug life as well.

The thread is here if you want to check it out:

    Keep up the good work!

I've seen the thread...but when people tell me something "feels" better with no true measured evidence I do get skeptical. The plugs are really inexpensive and easy to swap so maybe I'll give it a shot whenever I get my car back.

Car runs so good on the tune. Going to add timing back to the lower IAT range though.

Got my car fixed(suspension issues) today. Going to log some more and see if the knock retard goes away. I'm starting to think that was causing my issues seeing as removing knock did nothing.

Still "knocking" in the same exact place. Has to be false because it happens even when I pull timing and no matter what the outside temp is. Same exact spot, same exact g/cyl. Always between 1600-2200rpm and when hitting the gas when cruising from a steady state.

Maybe try disabling burst knock and see if it goes away.

I went to try that and it looks like burst knock isn't even on. I will double check...
