Thread: NW 102 problems

    NW 102 problems

I have an 03 Z06 vette that was running great with a 90mm throttle body. Easy quick starts, perfect idles, no stalling or hanging idle. The vehicle idled at 700 rpms and was smooth for the cam and power levels, with nice AFR. The Z was peaking at 560rwhp and flatlined at 560 from 6100 to 6800. It has a fast 102 and I decided to change to a NW 102 to match the intake and remove the restriction at the top end. The throttle body was installed and now the car will not start without manual throttle, stalls all the time, dies after being reved up and will go into power reduction at higher throttle openings but not always. Idles ruff at 900 and the exhaust smells really bad. I changed the scaler and have started changinging everything. I had so much time into the tune with the 90mm and don't want to spend forever making changes to everything in the calibration for the 102mm. What am I missing, what do you normally do when going to a 102?

LOL Tell us how you really feel Dave.

The 102s can be tuned. It just ain't near as easy as the GEN4 platform.

OP, post a tune and data log. It's SOP. If you've been on here since 07 you should know that by now.

This is my first time on here and normally just read on the CF scan and tune threads, spoke to DSTeck and others over there..... I am reading like crazy here and see that I am 3 to 4 years behind form my HPTuners purchase date! should have done this years ago!

I have the same problem at idle and low speed surge vs the GM ported 90mm tb also have the 102 FAST and NW 102m LS7 100mm MAF.

Yeah I have the FAST 102 tb and intake and always getting the P0120 code. Will be installing some FAST LS2 injectors 57lbs and will be tuning the truck myself. I have the tuning school books and hopefully after time with it will get the tune right. Hopefully someone can post up so I can compare. I really hate the way it idles now. Have the same problem as op.

^^^^ Both of you need to post data logs and tunes if you want any help. More details on the combos would be a big help too. Can't come in here with no data to look at and vague questions and expect someone to pull a magical cure out of their butt.

PS, start by starting your own thread instead of hijacking this guys'.

edcmat chill out guy, wasn't asking for help. Was just making a statement. Not one time did I say can you fix my tune. No I didn't, I said I have the material and program to do it myself. As far as my on thread I will start my own when the time arises, people like you is the reason I try my damnedest to do it on my own. What a f-ing Douche bag. Ill remember your name and ensure you remember mine and don't worry trying to analyze my shit when I do start my own thread. I have read the getting started guide and read don't thread jack and also watched the vid about a dumbass asking a vague question and expecting everyone to fix an invisible tune file. So take the tampon out you @$$.

Is your psychiatrist aware that you are no longer taking your medication ?

Perhaps find yourself a website intended for those with mental health issues, and post your rants there for analysis by a resident clinician.

You SHOULD delete your post. It is a totally over the top douche bag response to my post. While you may not have asked anyone to "fix your tune" you did say you hoped someone would post one so you could compare. So, yeah, maybe not asking for help, but asking to look at one so you can see how it's done.

So you, as a newb looking for help, are going to attack ME, one of the ones capable of providing help. Good luck to you. Way to intro yourself.

FYI, its auto thread moderation that was deleting posts. I've loosened those restrictions up a bit.

I was not attacking you in my first post, but your comment about making my own thread and not hi jacking was an attack against me a newb. Like I have stated before I have read the post about not hijacking and posting up logs, tune file and a detailed description of what you are working on as well as the problem your having if your needing help. Nuff said about this I'm done with the back and forth.

So you're stating that MY post, which I'm sure everyone except yourself doesn't see as an attack, is an attack. Yet your post which most ANYONE would consider an attack, isn't? Wow. OK.

Just remember, you're the one here needing help, not me. As for comment about people like me being the reason you're trying to do this yourself, well, it's people like you that make ME not want to help.

More true words were ever spoken ...

Previously I answered questions on many Forums ... down to one or two Forums ... it used to be that a charitable act (helping someone else without any compensation) came with thanks, and a modicum of respect ... not always that way anymore.

Currently many PMs go unanswered, and only questions I find interesting, or posts I perceive as offensive, get any type of response.
