speed shop tuned truck and melted a piston so we decided to tune it ourselves but trying to figure out what they did in the computer and fix the problem what should we work on to correct problems just a point in the general direction will work what to look for that can cause these issues surging going from gear to p/n & extreme lean when hard throttle from idle

    Holy half baked tunes Batman!!!
You need to start referencing a stock tune to get some of your tables back in line. There are so many things wrong, I don't even know where to begin. Too much idle timing, wacked out main spark tables, a VE table from hell and your MAF isn't set to fail and even if you don't have it plugged in, you need to fail it. I would have done a little housekeeping but don't have an open license for trucks and there's not enough hours in the day to go over how to clean up this mess.

If someone doesn't have mercy on you and do some basic cleanup on your tune, start reading the stickies up top and start importing tables from a stock tune and work from there or pay a trustworthy professional to do a mail order tune like Frost or Edcmat-l1 that will at least get you a reasonable baseline to work from.
