Wideband o2 place for an External Wastegate

I am having an issue I have an external wastegate on my 2008 Saab 9-3 V6. My wideband sensor is placed before the wastegate ties back into the exhaust. Not having that extra volume of exhaust pass by the o2 sensor is that going to screw up the reading? I just don't want to blow up my engine seeing that I can't get saab parts any more. Thanks alot

the best way to look at this is that your external wg is not a exhaust leak. when it does open there is some pressure behind it keeping the outside air from rushing in. so in short, the afr that comes through the turbine is still the same as the bypassed exhaust. either way that o2 is going to read.

so most put it after but its not that important. those are just a few examples google always has more and there are plenty of other good companies out their with different products to look at for examples.
