Reoccuring Problem....Won't start after flashing until MAF fails!

08 Silverado turbo truck, won't start after I write calibration or write entire. Runs and starts fine until I change something and then it won't. Starts and dies with no codes set, once P0102 sets in will start and run fine until I flash it. It's frustrating!!!! Any one see anything that is wrong in my tune?

Yes, you have it setup that way. MIL on first error. when you flash you reset the stored mil codes so it needs to detect a maf error before it goes SD. see below for fix.

    change

    p0101, p0102, p0103 to 2- no mil light

    cheers!

What's the difference between having them set at 0 and then 2?

I always set them to 0 and uncheck SES Enable. Works just fine for me.

No idea for me. You have it set the exact same way I set it on everything else, and they always fail to SD immediately.

I was just going to ask you if you had any ideas, Dave. What's setting them to 2 going to do?

Do you physically have a MAF present for the IAT, or have you replaced that? If you do not have a MAF, get it to fail, then log airflow at idle, and paste that number into 0hz on the MAF sensor table. If you do have a MAF present, force it not to fail first, and get the MAF tables dialed in at least a little bit at low airflow, enough to make the truck run off the MAF, then you should be able to force it to fail again and get rid of the stalling issue.

No MAF Present and I put an IAT sensor in the pipe that is wired to the two IAT wires from MAF harness.

Same here, but I still run into one every once in a while that doesn't want to start on the first few attempts.

I've tried this too in a couple that gave me problems, and it didn't work. At least not in the few I've tried it on. Seems the ones that are hard starting for me, nothing fixes them. Just gotta turn the key off and on several times and crank it several times. Finally it goes, then it's fine every time after until you flash it again.

That doesn't seem to matter either. Not in the cases I've dealt with.

Just tired of it. Simple things end up a pain in the ass. The engine and driveline are fine. It's petty crap that's driving me nuts.

Yes! I can relate to that! Sometimes wish I would have left it stock! It's always something!
