    6l80e TCC Slip

    Hey Guys,

One thing I'm still trying to remidy is a TCC Slip issue, if you look at the attached pic you can see at 60%+ throttle the TCC Slip (rpm) and Turbine RPM both are erratic while in 3rd gear, this isn't from tire slip.

I have a Century built A6 and Yank 3200 Stall, I suspect I have to increase pressures, just dont know what ones, any ideas?

Attached Current tune file as well

    Cheerz

Does it do the same thing during light load? Or just when you load the car up more in the higher gears?

Happens when throttle above 60% (450-500 ftlbs tq) noticed it also on 2nd gear as well. Have the Traction control to Competition mode, driving feels like its being held back and released like when Traction control is on and you get wheel spin.

I had the same issue. Log missfires and I bet you are showing some. Missfires will cause the converter to unlock. I raised the missfire tables 10% at a time in the areas I was showing some, until they didnt happen anymore, and the converter stays locked since then. Some people max the tables but I wouldnt as I still want to know if there are any real missfires.

After looking at your tune I realize your converter is not set to lock in any gear.

Will start loging misfires and see what comes up, the Convertor is set to lock in 5th and 6th and does so in a manner that works for the 3200 stall

You are right. My mistake. I would check misfires, and if not that I would raise the rgulator offset to 90. You should be getting more pressure when locked. Last thing I would try is the apply ramp. With the offset at 90, you should see 109 psi which keeps it locked tight.

Looks like misfiring is the issue, cylinder #3 has 60 misfires in 1 sec, with#7 with 4 and #8 with 6. The rest are at 0.

Guess its time to check the plugs and injectors, Now is also a good time to do motorhead47 fuel mod to supply fuel to the rear of the eforce.

Chances are good they are not real miss fires. Double the numbers in the miss fire table and they will probably stop showing. Mine did. Headers, cams, converter, can all cause this. Feeding both rails is a good idea anyway.

Well, one of my spark plugs (#3) had a creacked ceramic stem, possibly due to the stock cable boot rubbing against the headers, put in a temp Iradium spark plug as dont have any spare (cooler) NGK TR6IX lying around, ordered some 8.5mm MSD plug cables as well, may as well do it right, should have done it as soon as I installed the headers.

After a few runs, the misfires have reduced dramatically, now time check if the issue has gone.

    Thanks

Glad you found the issue. Personally, I dont hear great things about MSD wires and run stock ones with koolsox on them and have had no issue with them. Either way, even when you fix that up, you should raise the missfire tables a bit because a cam and torque converter will always give you some false signals, and as you see prevent the converter from locking.
