Os enhansment change to 2barr not avalible. Why?

Truck is an 06 Chevy with 5.3l. Need to change the os to 2 Barr and in the os menu all the tabs are not activated. What is the issue?

Past 2004 there was less and less room to put custom operating system code so there are some applications that don't have them available.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

So now that we built this turbo kit for this truck and installed it what can we do to be able to utilize the MAF delete and 2 Barr Map sensor? Or are you telling me we cannot change the OS to 2 Barr?

Yeah looks like an oddball operating system to me, I don't even see the 6807 one being valid for that vin.

SO is there any advice as to what we can do? Do we need to just buy a new PCM? Can we send it in and have it modified or something?

AFAIK You need to find a compatible OS that has the Enhancements available (like Shrek posted? ) and flash that to the PCM then do the COS

So you are saying buy a new PCM with a compatible OS or are you saying I can get an OS and flash it myself into this PCM?

Does anyone have a list of compatible OS systems that the Enhancements are available? Where do I get this?

How would I go about Flashing a different OS into the current PCM? Do you have a procedure for this?

before doing so wait for others as I am not 100% sure.

    Example;
If the OS that Shrek posted will work for your application, goto repository, find a file with that OS.

Then use write entire (I believe you will need to licence file)
    Then change the VIN
    then tune.

Again this is just my interpretation.

Tech 2 would be the best however you'd likely need to loose your vin for their programming to program in the 6807 operating system to your pcm and who knows if it'll work properly with your particular application. There is no compatible list, there is a reason gm created so many operating systems, if there wasn't a specific reason they would've done one operating system and used it in hundreds of applications over several years, thats not what they do though.

If we buy a new PCM and they order it off the current VIN for the truck will it be the the same OS as the current PCM?

It seams to me the changes would have more to do with the other PCM modules in the truck, like the BCM, the data link to the gauge cluster, etc. I think the wiring is not the issue as most of the wiring hardware is the same from one year to the next. Not to mention the wiring is usually the same for that truck of the same year, but I can see how the other modules can be programmed differently from one set of trucks to another set of trucks of the same year.

Can I send the files I have from this truck to HP Tuners and let them see if they can make the enhancments avalible? Maybe they have not run into or done any testing with this OS version yet. Keep in mind, it looks like everything else in the tuning program is there and I can change and flash this PCM, it is just the RTT and the OS enhancments that do not work.

Something else I want to point out. When I first hooked up and retrieved the stock programming from the truck I was using for the first time my new Microsoft Surface Table with windows 8 Pro, it has the latest version pulled off HP Tuners web sight, 2.24 I think it is. The only issue I had was the enhancments. I then thought maybe it was something to do with this tablet. SO I broke out my laptop that still has the Beta version on it and pulled the tune off the truck again. It too will not let me change the OS enhancments. SO I do not think it is the new tablet or the windows 8. The laptop has windows 7.

Now I have not tried and am thinking about trying this. I wonder if I remove the Beta version from my laptop and install the original older software from my CD if the older software will work.

Bill what are your thoughts on all above? Could it be something with the Beta version on my laptop or the 2.24 I am using on the tablet?

I don't do the vcm enhancements but to do this oddball one above the dozens we already have in queue wouldn't make much sense to me. You might just want to try the 6807 operating system to see if it works for you.

Found a file with the 6807.

This is not a trick question and forget liability. The customer is willing to buy a new PCM if need be or if I screw this one up. He understands the issues.

Correct me if I am wrong, if I wanted to try that cal I should write entire it into this PCM. The only thing I found different in the compare to my cal is a few Throttle settings. Should I past my throttle settings into it first then write entire or just go with it as is?

Or can I not do this with my HP Tuners and need to get my hands on a GM Tech Tool?

Again, we understand we are doing this at our own risk. Just looking for opinions and or guidance.

    Thanks
