    Hummer H3 - 3.5L - MAF numbers

    Hello,

I'm new to ECU tuning. Normally I tune with distributors and Weber carbs on vintage cars.

As here several times explained I tested with the scanner the MAF and made a histogram with MAF-STFT.
I drove at different engine revs and loads and moved the throttle slowly.
The cells on the MAF-STFT histogramm shows values between -52; -50; -49

What does this say to me as I was told that the value should be close zero. The MAF settings are stock.

    Chris

You are logging, but your filter/formula is incorrect and logging the wrong data into the scanner.

Try out the attached file. Save to you laptop. Open the scanner. Go to File, Open Config, and select the file.

This one is set for LTFT turned off. Let me know if I need to give you the LTFT+STFT histo.

    Thanks a lot. I'll try.
I've ordered the book "Engine Management: Advanced Tuning"
Hope this getting me some input that I can ask better questions.

I drove today and filled the histo with datas and I saved a file from the histo chart which gives a MAF- STFT.hst file.
Now I try to open it and I have no values anymore. The file size has 105 bytes.

No idea how to handle the software.

But from my memories I saw values between -7 to +5.
What does this telling me? Is a + value rich or lean?

Positive numbers mean the computer is having to add fuel and negative means its pulling fuel. If you open the histogram and right click on it there should be a option to load all data.

I opened the histogram *.hst file. I right click on the cells but the "load data" option is disabled.
What did I wrong? Or can't my software version save datas?

Aha, it seems I did a mistake.
I have to save the log hpl file instead of the *hst file.
    right?

    Well, managed to make histos.

    This is 98RON fuel

    and LPG:

    What do you think?
Seems that the LPG equipment is not able to provide enough fuel at very high revs.

Make a maf histogram with a Tps filter set just under your pe enable tps position and log aft error with a wideband. Makes for very fast maf changes

    Hi Hawk,

I'm using your Collie cfg file and had a look on the knock retard page and found values only on the first line?

How could this be? is that a correct reading?
Do I have to change something for a correct reading if this one might be wrong?

I don't have access to a wideband and can't change the exhaust to fit one.

Very interesting that your cylinder air mass is not increasing as you go up in rpms. Either something isn't being logged or your have something not connected to the air system.

iirc the red dot next to the tab numbers beans there is a graphing error. usually a pid used on an axis parameter that isnt being logged as stated above.

your airmass PID must be different than the one hawk sent you, go into the retard's histo settings and see whats up. make sure you are logging cyl air in the PID display as well.

    Strange thing.
    Thanks for input.
I wasn't able to make it work with the Collie config but I could use the loggin data from the Collie config to my own config to show the values.
The funny thing is, that I can log the datas in my own cfg file. So currently I have to use the workaround - logging collie.cfg, showing data, hummer.cfg.
Any idea how to make it more easy to work?

    knock values.

    Can't upload my cfg file.
