    Windows 8 issues

I recently bought a new computer that has windows 8. I loaded the latest version of editor and scanner and loaded the windows 8 drivers. Device manager recognizes the mv when it is plugged in, when I use the editor it will go through a read as normal but once you try to save the file it says to email support because there was an issue. When I try to use the scanner it won't even connect. It will connect to the MPVI in both programs and tell you license info. Any help would be greatly appreciated. btw, I had this installed on windows 7 on the last computers and has been working fine until the laptop screen took a poop

Maybe try emailing support with whatever information its telling you to email support with.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

With the scanner I am getting an "Unable to create a log" error and with editor I am getting "ECM Definition failed to load. You will be unable to edit this file" I emailed support twice but no response and I am 4 cars deep for tuning. Any help would be appreciated

same problem, what did you do? I just went from a laptop with vista & 2.24 to a tablet windows 8 & 2.24, I test scanned my 09 gmc 1500 previously tuned with hpt and got the exact error.

EDIT: I fixed mine (for now), on my tablet the problem was moving the VCM editor and scanner to the desktop from program files. Moved them back into their originally installed folder and it works fine. I will see if i can create/copy a shortcut on the dektop but actually moving the programs made them not work. EDITII: Creating a shortcut on the dektop linked to the VCM editor and scanner in the program files worked too

Yeah I finally got a win 8 pc, seems to work great, and now that we've added the drivers to MS database even the drivers loaded up without a hitch

My drivers did not load automatically and Device Manager can't find any drivers for the MPVI.

    Now what?

Doh! Looks like there are plenty of other threads on this.

    Downloaded drivers worked.

Yeah if you are using a beta version for some unknown reason you definitely need to update to 2.24, there hasn't been a need to run beta software for probably 6 months now.
