My Camaro runs pretty good for a stock bottom end car...it does 500 rwhp and 462 rwtq with a pretty mild cam and good heads.
I've been trying to understand why it's so sensitive on the dyno, at 12.5:1 and stock spark it's fine, at 12.7:1 it will knock and pull 2 degrees of timing and lose 30-35 foot pounds. I'd been running TR55's in it, gapped at 0.040, the 5 heat range is where I think the problems come from.
I really want to be able to try to run 1 or 2 degrees more spark than stock to see if there's any more power there, I think there will be.
NGK says to run a TR7IX...but I think a TR6 gapped around 0.035 should suffice. What do you guys think?
