New to site...Which ecm to use?

Hello, new to this site, currently have HP Pro on its way. I have a 49 chev truck currently installing a LQ9 6.0L, comp cam, headers, holley Hi ram with DBC throttle body, wide band O2, 4l80E 2wd. Engine is from 05 Escalade. I have the stock harness and ecm. I will be converting harnness to DBC. I have spent countless hours reading posts and for some reason still unclear as to which ecm to use. I have a friend that owns a wrecking yard so I have access to just about any ecm needed.

The ecm that came with engine is #12589463 which from what i read will not accept DBC. Any help would be appreciated as to which ecm would be best for my application. I would like the proper ecm for DBC and the closest factory tune for my application to start with, then tune from there.

You could use the 12586243 (2004) or the 12589462 (2005) or the 12602801 (2007) PCMs. They have the IAC drivers for DBC. I can't seem to find a listing for a 2006 DBC PCM.

You could definitely do that. You would need to change the Green plastics on one of the 80 pin PCM connectors to Red plastics. I think you would also need to give the O2 heater circuit a ground and/or delete the heater codes in the tune----I can't remember which.

Lots of good options being discussed ...

The 2005 wiring harness is configured for Isolate Ground O2 sensors - all 4 of them. A 2002 LQ4 6.0L tune (used the 12200411 PCM) is setup for Isolate Ground upstream O2s - some used 4 Isolate Ground O2s.

My 2 cents ... use the existing wiring harness (easily converted from 4L60 to 4L80 use) and the existing PCM - and a DBW throttle body. Easy to install, and Cruise Control ready.

IF you are dead set on using DBC there are 2003 model PCMs that allow you to use DBC while retaining the BLUE/GREEN PCM.
    From LT1SWAP.COM
"2003: Serv. No. 12576106 with Hwd. No. 12570558 - Pretty much all 2003 stuff should have this PCM.

2004: Serv. No. 12586243 with Hwd. No. 12583659 - Mostly GTO and Express vans got this PCM, as well as Caddy CTS-V. MIGHT be in trucks.

2005-2006: Serv. No. 12589462 with Hwd. No. 12589161 - I think you'll only find this in Express Vans. Maybe in some pickups, not for sure."
