Can HP tuners fix this?
When towing small trailer using cruise control and I come to small incline it downshifts to 5 then back to 6 then 5 every few seconds. If I override cruise by pushing on throttle it doesnt do this.
Thanks

Yes, under the transmission settings for shift points. Lower the profile for the 6th to 5th shift for the speed you're setting cruise control. I usually raise them all and create a larger separation of speed between the upshift and downshift, that way it takes more throttle to cause a downshift. It also creates slope in the profile, so that say a 30% increase in throttle does cross the downshift profile. Something like that anyway.

You could do it like that. How about you select the remainder of the cells after the "50 and 62%", and multiply them by .9 (a 10% reduction)? Pay particular attention to the speed at which you are setting the cruise control. I use an excel spreadsheet to plot the values from the table for each shift, so that I can graphically see the profiles. The stock shift profiles look flat and close together, by the time I'm done with it they have more slope and speed between the upshift and downshift. Just change tow/haul mode, if you want. That's what's happening to your truck at that particular speed, the two profiles are too close together.

Thanks. I read those with a friends tuner. Your fix is enough to make me order a tuner today.
Thanks again
Update- Just orderd one and it is on the way
Thanks

Cool! Welcome aboard. Since I helped sell a license maybe technical support would be willing to send me the earlier BETA, so that I can do what I need to do. BTW, I'll share my shift point spreadsheet with anyone who asks for it.

I'd love to see spread sheet, since I am a newbie.
Doubt tech will send support to disable DPF
I used Edge to do that for my farm truck. Will still use edge for tuning and overwrite shift points. Wanted to make a few minor changes to my blown Camaro also. Your help pushed me over the limit and caused me to place order today.
If you dont want to post spread sheet here - you can PM me or I will give E-mail add.
Thanks

...and by popular demand. Here ya go. You can thank me, just not blame me, hahaha. It has helped me to see and have an overall control of edits for the shift points table. Use the tabs from left to right, and I placed user notes at the bottom of each sheet.

It seems like you raised all values in the up shift and down shift?

I don't think it's just a matter of raising the values. Look at the graphs that compare the new profile with the stock for a particular shift. The profiles have more slope, and there is more gap between the upshift and downshift profile. So for one, the truck won't be in 6th until it's going faster, has more RPMs, and more torque. Secondly, it will take a larger change in throttle position before requiring a downshift. I'm not exactly sure why your truck would be shifting back and forth, but you could try this table for performance mode only. If you didn't like how high the shift speeds are, you can edit them by the adders and multipliers in each cell to get them near stock. Then you can create your own custom gap between the upshift and downshift (edit the downshift to be lower). That's the purpose of it, to give someone the ability to see their changes and edit it to what they like.
