Need help - Advance Spark Min and TqMgt

First off I have searched on this issue and read many posts.

    Corvette 2006 LS2
    A6 transmission
    Supercharged

    Question 1 -
I am wanting to reduce or limit the maximum amount of spark pulled during shifts. Currently I'm seeing more than -15* during shifts. Looking at the Spark>Advance>Spark Minimum I thought I might be able to limit the spark. But I noticed the table only goes up to Cylinder Air Mass of 0.72 g/cyl. I need to limit it around 0.88 g/cyl. Am I going about this in the wrong way?

    Question 2-
Also, I noticed a "Spark Minimum TqMgt". Wondering if that would be of any help to reducing the dreaded timing pull between shifts.

    Thanks for any assistance!

Try reducing Shift Torque Factor. Here's one with .500 used through 3-4 shifts. You can tailor it to what ever you want.

yeah as mentioned above, you want to make changes to your trans TM tables, not your main spark tables.

Thanks, I have made several tiny changes in different areas that didn't amount to anything so if I don't see any reaction it makes me wonder if I'm doing the right thing. I will get more aggressive with this table and see what happens.

    Thanks again!

    Thanks!

I'm working my way through it and learning as I go. Thanks for the link!

The "Spark Minimum TqMgt" exactly addresses what you are talking about for advance retard minimum during shifts. I set it at 10 across the table and felt it was a bit high "feel wise". I settled for 5 finally on my 09 LS3 Vette.. I have an 07 Avalanche also and 10 turned out to be a bit rougher than i wanted so i set it to 0. After making the change you can see your spark advance in scanner dropping to what you set it at in this table.

Does this also limit it under WOT because my table only goes to 0.72 g/cyl but for WOT it need to be at least .88 g/cyl.

I also thought this table might be for traction control events only.

Thanks, I will have to experiment with it.

I don't recall for sure.. but I'm pretty sure it does.. I know for absolutely certain that the number i put in this chart was the number i seen during shifts while scanning under part throttle. Of course I didn't put in an unusually high number like 20 or greater. 10 is the highest I'e ever tried. This can make the shifts feel much firmer or even harsh.

You're in the wrong table. Spark Min TqMgt is a temp based table, not airflow based. You're in Spark Min.

"Spark Minimum TqMgt"- if you set entire table to 5 or 8 and tq mgt is still active this will be the lowest amount of spark engine will see during part throttle shifts or WOT shifts. It is the hard set limit. It will never go below that EVEN if it is knocking or hot as hell the modifiers cannot pull timing out past that set point. It is good but also dangerous depending on setup. So during a shift on a LS3 auto N/A car you can set that at 10 and it will maintain toruque during shift and come out harder. I adjust according to setup.

This would be a good tool if absolutely needed I suppose. I think the wisest choice for me would be to tune down the torque management with the Shift Torque Factor. That way if need be the timing can retard as much as necessary to protect the engine in the case of bad gas or something.

    Thanks!
